Marnus Labuschagne Omitted from Australia's One-Day International Team Versus Team India
Labuschagne finds himself omitted from the three-match ODI series facing India, with high-performing Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw receiving a surprise inclusion.
Performance Issues Result in Exclusion
The right-hander was left out from the ODI squad following managing only a single run in both of his innings during the top-end series against South Africa in August. He has a top score of 47 in his last 10 ODI innings.
The batsman has played 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 ODI runs at an average of 34.64, but will now continue to press his claims a return to the Test side ahead of the Ashes beginning in Perth on November 21.
Surprise Inclusion and Team Changes
Recent performances suggest of a return to form with a score of 160 for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield this week, while Renshaw also hit a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his ODI debut in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
Renshaw has played 14 Tests with the most recent appearance in India in 2023 but is also seeking a return to the Test team as Australia search for a answer to their top-order woes.
Bowling Additions and Injury News

Squad Selection Approach and Schedule

Mitch Marsh will lead both the ODI and T20 teams after scoring a hundred in the last match against New Zealand to secure a two-nil victory last week.
“Selectors have announced a squad for the ODI series and initial two matches of the T20 series as there will be some management through the later stages of the series as players get ready for the cricket season through domestic first-class matches,” Australia chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an important period in the preparation for the World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously get ready certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
