Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the liquid was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking political figure said the attack left him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
